an energetic prewedding portraits in Hong Kong

We are fortunate to meet many, many people in our professional lives and while we treasure all the relationships that we form with those we meet, there are a select few that do seem to leave a longer lasting impression.  Jennifer and Kevin are two such people.Jennifer has a fantastic sense of humour and she’s very sweet.  One of her best qualities is that she has a great laugh; each time her fiance tells her a joke, makes her laugh, Jennifer will do so until she cries.  She is very much a bride who wears her heart on her sleeve, with great upbringing and very polite.  She’s also very organised – even though during the discussions about her portraits, Jennifer would say ‘I don’t mind’ a lot, and then produce a very detailed to-do list clarifying her requests.  She’s also very sweet about it and we are very happy to be shooting their pre-wedding portraits and to be shooting their wedding day as well.

As for Kevin – well, he’s an lacrosse and has represented Hong Kong at the Olympics.  He’s a very, very tall man; anybody who stands next to Kevin becomes small.  It’s like that he was fated to protect and take care of the people around him.  They are a very sweet couple.  We still remember their laughter from the first time we showed them the photo slideshow and it’s a fond memory of ours.

While a lot of our couples shoot their pre-wedding portraits on their own, Jennifer and Kevin chose to include their family in some of their pre-wedding portraits.  It was obvious that their family bond was strong and that they wanted to share their happiness with the people they loved.  We know that their wedding day will be a great success as they’ve also hired Johnny Productions to shoot their big day too!

‘如果我是陳奕迅’ Mr

No matter what your taste is in music, I think it’s safe to say that there aren’t many people in Hong Kong who don’t know the rock band ‘Mr.’  Lead vocal Alan and his lovely bride-to-be Sally very kindly chose Johnny Productions to shoot their pre-wedding portraits and wedding day.

In this set of pre-wedding portraits, both the bride and groom wanted a natural feel – of course, there was also the inclusion of Alan’s favourite instrument, the guitar.  Throughout the shooting, it was obvious that Alan has an eye for the details, loves beauty and of course, has a very sweet bride.  We had a fantastic time with them both; they preferred quiet locations and shooting at our studio where they could be relaxed and more intimate.

We love these portraits; thanks again to Alan and Sally for their trust in our work!

one moment, captured forever

ou’ve been there: whether it’s a professional taking your portraits in a studio or a quick ‘selfie’ with your phone, there’s a moment before the shutter clicks where you think, ‘how do I look?’, ‘is my hair okay?’, or ‘do I have anything in my teeth?’.  Perhaps you wonder ‘do I look awkward standing like this?’ or ‘is this going to make me look weird?’ when a professional asks you to pose in a certain way or tells you to stand in a certain place.  And those musings would be quite normal, considering you’re about to be immortalized in pixels.  That one moment, captured forever.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.  For all the make-up and hair and arranged poses in the world could never match up to the mesmerizing shine of one’s natural beauty.  All it takes is a simple smile.
One Moment Captured Forever

STEPHANIE & ARTHUR / HK prewedding

Since establishing Johnny Productions all those years ago, we have always maintained that we look for the individuality in each photograph we take. We are so proud to have been able to create new and exciting images for each and every one of our clients for each year that we’ve been in business. It’s always a challenge to make each photo-set unique and different but always satisfying when we come up with amazing results.

For Stephanie and Arthur, looking for something that brought out the individual characteristics of the bride and groom wasn’t hard. From our first meeting, we knew that Stephanie liked going drinking and so for their pre-wedding portraits, it was easy to decide on going to a bar to get some great images. As for the groom, well, Arthur is an ice-hockey player. Where else would we go to bring out his character than the skating rink?

We had a lot of fun during the shoot and we are very happy with the resulting photos. Congratulations to Stephanie and Arthur and all the best for your future together!

Studio portrait

Weather conditions were cold outside but we were unaffected inside the studio. We spent a lot of time setting up lots of different types of lighting to create different moods for this particular shoot. It was both challenging and interesting to be given such a simple guideline and see how we came up with something new.

I’m quite proud of this set of portraits. It just goes to show that pre-wedding portraits can be shot inside and turn out really well.

JOAN & DANNY / TREES……………..

Joan and Danny had very little by way of demands for their pre-wedding portraits. As per all our couples, we wanted to do something unique for them and Joan and Danny’s simple reply presented a challenge.

Trees, trees and, well… more trees.

So it became our mission to explore Hong Kong and find the best places to shoot pre-wedding portraits amongst a forest of trees. It’s quite possible that we ended up in locations that had never been used as pre-wedding portrait backdrops before but it was an adventure that we’ll never forget.

Joan is such a sweet bride and despite his outward appearance, Danny makes a very attentive groom. It was lovely to spend time with them, stretching our creativity and producing some truly wonderful results.

IDY + LAWRENCE + CHARLIE / A Wonderful New Friend

Charlie is adorably affectionate example of the male species. He’s cute, endearing and very charming when he wants to be. Sometimes he can be a bit shy, at other times he’s surprisingly forward. He can be very open but he can also be hard to read. We ended up spending an entire memorable day getting to know one another and a new friendship was formed.

Charlie, in case you’re all wondering, is a beautiful specimen of Golden Retriever, and a big important part of Idy and Lawrence’s family.

Idy and Lawrence approached us to shoot a set of portraits on one very rare sunny day in January. An already married couple, Idy and Lawrence wanted to include Charlie in their family portraits. Spending time with Charlie made me see dogs in a new light and at times, it really felt as though he understand exactly what I was saying.

I don’t know if Charlie will ever sit down and look at these portraits but I am pretty certain that after the long day of the shoot, we both slept like babies the next day!
