The Great Gatsby

So the marriage proposal was a success, the wedding date has been set and the wedding venue has been chosen.  Amongst the very first decisions a bride and groom have to make when organizing a wedding, besides the wedding guest list and the all-important wedding gown, is the wedding theme.

The majority of wedding themes tend to highlight romance – and quite rightly so, after all, this is the ultimate celebration of a romance.  Fairytales, garden themes, the dreamier the better.  However, there are a few unique wedding themes that we’ve been honoured to participate in that we’d like to highlight for the purposes of this blog.  For example, a recent wedding that brought the decadent, ‘Roaring Twenties’ of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel, ‘The Great Gatsby’ (and recently, major motion picture) to full and fabulous life in the heart of metropolitan Hong Kong.

Using ‘The Great Gatsby’ as inspiration in Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, wedding decoration company ‘The Wood’ effortlessly created a masterpiece in elegance; bold black and glistening gold was the motif for the wedding decorations, from the photography backdrop to the wedding favours to the stage.

Glitz and glamour of the 1920s, brought to life for one special night.  I’m sure the wedding guests will agree that this was one memorable night with a wonderful couple.

one moment, captured forever

ou’ve been there: whether it’s a professional taking your portraits in a studio or a quick ‘selfie’ with your phone, there’s a moment before the shutter clicks where you think, ‘how do I look?’, ‘is my hair okay?’, or ‘do I have anything in my teeth?’.  Perhaps you wonder ‘do I look awkward standing like this?’ or ‘is this going to make me look weird?’ when a professional asks you to pose in a certain way or tells you to stand in a certain place.  And those musings would be quite normal, considering you’re about to be immortalized in pixels.  That one moment, captured forever.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.  For all the make-up and hair and arranged poses in the world could never match up to the mesmerizing shine of one’s natural beauty.  All it takes is a simple smile.
