BALI BULGARI

Flower petals, white doves, balloons… we’ve seen our fair share of these gestures of fanfare as our lovely brides walk down the aisle with their equally dashing grooms. It is the final moment of the all-important wedding ceremony and represents the moment of joyful celebration. Keeping this in mind, Christine and Clement also wanted something to mark their union and went for something a little different but no less impressive: as they walked arm-in-arm down the aisle, ten-thousand butterflies were released in the air. Memorable? Absolutely.

We’ve taken part in quite a few weddings held at the Bulgari Resort, Bali and we bring back special memories from each of them. Christine and Clement’s wedding was a beautiful, intimate affair, with the people they loved there to witness the most important day of their lives thus far. The setting was gorgeous, with a fantastic live band and delicious food. We’d like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to Evelyn of Marriage Maestros – wedding planner extraordinaire – for all her hard work for the wedding and who looked after us so well. Look out for more of her work at www.marriagemaestros.com

Ever since our first meeting with Christine, we knew she was a lady with style. She’s a Chanel Super Fan – from her shoes to her clothes to her accessories – and it was no surprise that this style was incorporated into her wedding day. It has been some time since we last caught up with the newly-weds but the memories of their wedding
still remain embedded in our minds. One of the highlights was the exchanging of their vows. Even though the words were simple, the emotions behind them were not. I still remember clearly how nervous Clement was before the ceremony, a stack of tiny cue-cards in his pocket with one sentence per card as he rehearsed and memorised and practiced until he got it perfect. Needless to say that the weather in Bali was hot, but whether we were indoors or outdoors, Clement always seemed to be drenched in sweat – it wasn’t difficult to see that how much he revered the occasion and cherished his bride.

Christine and Clement requested that we keep from showing their faces from our blog, wanting to keep their big day as private as possible and of course, we respect their wishes entirely. However, we would like to share what special moments we can for our dear readers to enjoy.

QUEENIE & CARY / Fun Loving Chic

Modern, cool and a little quirky – these adjectives pretty much describes the atmosphere at the W Hotel. They also describe our happy couple, Queenie and Cary, making the W the ideal setting for their dream wedding.

Queenie makes a beautiful bride. She wears her heart on her sleeve and has no problems with expressing herself. Whether she’s in fits of laughter or tears, Queenie is refreshingly open about her emotions. And she’s an individual – the tattoo on her shoulder is a shining example of her fun-loving one-of-a-kind self; where most brides would probably cover it up, Queenie chose a strapless wedding gown that would show it off on her big day.

Cary’s a good-looking groom. He is the youngest of three siblings and we’ve been lucky enough to be the photographers for both his older sisters. We like to think we’re friends of the family now!

Queenie and Cary are very close to their families – the lovely speeches given by Queenie’s brother and Cary’s sister during their banquet that night were a testament to how much Queenie and Cary are loved.

We wish them all the happiness in the future!

FRITZ & FIONA / Beauty & Elegance

There was one thing that really struck us when we first met Fritz and Fiona: Fritz’s parents absolutely adore Fiona, and Fiona’s parents love Fritz. From what we could gather, both families spent a lot of time together and for those of us who are hopeless romantics, it really does seem like Fiona and Fritz were destined to be together.

Everything about Fritz and Fiona is elegant. From the bridal party’s clothes to the beautifully orchestrated ceremony at St Margaret’s Church to the gorgeous décor of the evening banquet, there was poise and elegance abound – a wedding tailored to suit our happy couple.

Stereotypically, most grooms are not all that interested in the intricate details of the wedding ceremony. Fritz, however, is not your typical groom. In fact, he was the person most concerned with the particulars of the ceremony and rightly so – it is not often that we have seen the pews of St Margaret’s Church full to bursting, or the magnificent ceremonial procession that preceded the bride’s entrance into the church.

Sophistication and romance continued into the evening banquet. There were beautiful decorations, thoughtful wedding favours and speeches bringing laughter and tears. Fritz is a fantastic pianist and his surprise performance for his wife was a wonderful highlight to the evening.

We’d like to take this opportunity to wish Fritz and Fiona a beautiful new life together – and to thank them for such wonderful memories!
