Hong Kong Wedding Day-Hong Kong China Club & Hullett House
There was only ever one place Melissa and John wanted to celebrate their wedding in Hong Kong and that was the retro-chic China Club in Central. A love for history and a love for art brought Melissa and John to choose 1930s Shanghai as the theme to their wedding and boy, did their dream wedding come alive, from the detailed dress code of their guests to the wonderfully historic heritage hotel of Hullett House.
In the morning, we met with the groom and his groomsmen at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s famous old school barber shop. A treat for the boys, and a great start to a memorable day. Melissa, meanwhile, prepared at Hullet House, surrounded by her fairly and friends. As a curator, Melissa’s attention to detail is impeccable and with John’s meticulous planning skills, it was clear that this match was made in heaven.
The ceremony itself was fairly small, taking place in the library of the China Club with a few of their closest family and friends. Afterwards, the party really began with the banquet, where quite a few emotional speeches left not a dry eye in the house.
Many thanks to Melissa and John for all their kind arrangements for the crew during their big day. It’s not often that we get to do a short tour of Hong Kong during a wedding but we will definitely remember the Star Ferry boat trip for a while to come. It was wonderful to be a part of something so special – themed weddings like this seem to be quite rare but definitely a lot of fun! All the best to the happy couple!
