Blog Introduction 27/9/2009 15:45:17 | other
We believe in the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Johnny Productions has now been up and running for 6 years. During this time, we¡¦ve had our ups and downs, experienced lots of laughter as well as a few tears. Through it all, we¡¦re proud to say that Johnny Productions has continued to mature and grow.
Word of mouth is how we do business and we rarely take out adverts, so the majority of our clients are referred to us by other couples. We¡¦ve been listening to a lot of feedback from our friends and clients. We know that a first meeting can seem a little overwhelming, with a lot to take in and not enough time to see all the different samples of our work, so we¡¦ve decided to create this blog in order to give you a little more information about what we do here at Johnny Productions. Our hope is that, through this blog, we¡¦ll be able to share with you our experiences and special moments. Hopefully you¡¦ll also get a little more understanding as to what makes us tick.
We¡¦d also like to take this chance to thank everyone for their trust and support, some of whom were our clients before we became good friends ¡V Kevin & Michelle, Patricia & Keith, Daisy & Victor and Mr & Mrs Jacky Fong, to name but a few. With Johnny Productions lucky enough to be part of many a wedding in the last few years, there are just too many to mention, but we are grateful to you all.
Feel free to leave a comment after you read; we welcome your suggestions and look forward to hearing from you.

KEVIN & MICHELLE / Barcelona For Art¡¦s Sake 8/9/2009 0:57:50 | engagement

Gaudi¡¦s work is admired by architects around the world as being one of the most unique and distinctive architectural styles. His work has greatly influenced the face of Barcelona Architecture and can be seen all over the city. Curved construction stones, twisted iron sculptures, his use of colour ¡V the combination of original design, interesting shaped stonework and vibrant colours in Gaudi¡¦s work give the viewer a truly breathtaking visual experience. What better city in which to shoot a daring set of photos for a striking young couple?
We know Kevin and Michelle very well, having been to Japan with them for their pre-wedding portraits and having photographed their wedding day. For their honeymoon, they chose to go to Europe, during which they met us in Barcelona for a ¡¥trash the dress¡¦ photoshoot. Naturally, as we were so familiar with each other, the few days we spent together were relaxed and fun.
Kevin and Michelle, having gotten used to our quirks before, were quick to warm up to our ideas and brought many of their own to the table. Many of our concepts were enthusiastically embraced by them and made into reality with their persistence. We enjoyed ourselves so much that the time passed by so fast ¡V we shot until nearly one o¡¦clock in the morning without realizing it.
We have fond memories of eating good food and having good times with Kevin and Michelle ¡V and many thanks go to them for allowing us to use their photo for an advertisement in an upcoming issue of HK Magazine.

YVONNE & EDMOND / Shanghai engagement Old City, New Discoveries 3/9/2009 1:04:07 | engagement

Perhaps it's because of the old colonial style of the city that makes Shanghai a favourite destination for shooting pre-wedding photos. We have been many times to do exactly that and thought we knew the city well, but during our trip with Yvonne and Edmond, we found there were many new places we hadn't yet experienced. With many parts of the city undergoing renovation, we were fortunate enough to discover a number of new areas in which to find inspiration.
Yvonne and Edmond are a relatively quiet couple. With Yvonne's mature sensibilities and Edmond's calm, relaxed personality, they make a good pair. Their serenity and easy-going attitude during the few days we were in Shanghai made our shoot go smoothly, despite the poor weather and we managed to successfully create some beautiful pre-wedding photos.
As we are so familiar with Shanghai, we took Yvonne and Edmond to lots of different places to eat typical Shanghai foods and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the city with them.

NACHELLE / Studio Portrait A Family Tradition¡K 1/9/2009 1:05:46 | kids

Every year, I take portrait shots of Nachelle for her birthday party. This year is the fourth consecutive year and it has been a pleasure to watch Nachelle become a beautiful little girl. It is a very special experience, because it feels as though I am with her as she grows up.
Nachelle¡¦s parents are artists and Nachelle has undoubtedly inherited this trait. She isn¡¦t camera shy and she needs no warm up before getting in front of the camera. She¡¦s an old hat at these portrait shots, so she knows how to pose and her smile is very natural.
Her family now has a new member ¡V Nachelle is now a big sister. I¡¦m not sure if the baby will one day be like her older sister and know instinctively how to react in front of a camera, but I¡¦m sure Nachelle will be able to give her some pointers and I look forward to continuing on the tradition of taking their family portraits.
