Special to "un pei"...... 29/8/2011 1:44:06 | engagement

We often ask our couples to bring ideas to the table for their pre-wedding portraits – something that will make their portraits unique and special to them. Sometimes, it’s a prop of some sort, maybe relating to their hobbies or how the couple met. More often than not, pet owners will bring their pets.
What makes Wing and Yin special is not that they decided to bring their two dogs to the shoot. It’s that the resulting pictures will probably be some of the last they’ll have of their little family, because even though you couldn’t really tell on the day, one of Wing and Yin’s beloved dogs has cancer and has only been given one month left to live. It is because of this, that this shoot and these photographs have become so important and precious.
Our shoots are always full of fun and laughter – and this time was no different, despite the underlying sadness with the knowledge of what was coming in the future for "un pei" As the previous owner of a pet, it was sometimes difficult to not be too emotional about "un pei" as the situation brought back lots of memories for us. Hopefully we created a special set of memories for Wing and Yin to remember "un pei" by and a big thank you to Wing, Yin, "un pei" and "dau dau" for allowing us to share such a special time with them.

CHRISTINA & ALBERT/ New York 22/8/2011 14:58:24 | engagement

Christina and Albert are pros now at this pre-wedding portrait thing. We shot their first set in Shanghai and this follow-up in New York was just as fun and interesting. The concept behind Shanghai was one of tradition and the photographs reflected the quiet dignity of the old city. New York, on the other hand, is the absolute opposite – loud, noisy and full of crowds – the quintessential big bustling city.
Not that the environment affected our young couple in any way, shape or form. We also shot some footage for a pre-wedding video and there amongst a crowd of strangers, Christina and Albert were happy to dance in the middle of Times Square.
But that’s Pros for you.

JOAN & DANNY / TREES................. 16/8/2011 1:19:57 | engagement

Joan and Danny had very little by way of demands for their pre-wedding portraits. As per all our couples, we wanted to do something unique for them and Joan and Danny’s simple reply presented a challenge.
Trees, trees and, well… more trees.
So it became our mission to explore Hong Kong and find the best places to shoot pre-wedding portraits amongst a forest of trees. It’s quite possible that we ended up in locations that had never been used as pre-wedding portrait backdrops before but it was an adventure that we’ll never forget.
Joan is such a sweet bride and despite his outward appearance, Danny makes a very attentive groom. It was lovely to spend time with them, stretching our creativity and producing some truly wonderful results.
